Born in Nova Scotia in 1956, Sally was raised in Canada and Europe. She began her art career in fashion design, working in Montreal’s garment industry. In 1978 she married. She had 3 daughters. She began self-study and workshops to develop her art in the medium of watercolour. Over 25 years she continued painting, and moving around the world with her family. Amidst the upheaval of moving, painting was constant; it kept her grounded. For three years in 1999-2001, she painted full time while living in Australia. It was a huge period of growth. While there she attended the Brougham School of Art, studying art history and oil painting.
Inspiration from the landscape of southern Ontario and eastern Canada dominate her landscape work. She personally interprets places and portraits in a way that reflects her own nature.
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”-Leonardo DaVinci.

Sally’s studio, ‘Stoneheath’, is 2km west of the village of Elginburg, Ontario. She is artist/ owner of Gallery at the Porch Door, a seasonal (May- Sept) studio gallery in the breezeway of her farmhouse cottage north of Kingston, Ontario.
