winter in July
Winter Walk -oil on canvas, 30″ x 24″ This painting of a cloudy winter afternoon near the river seemed a tad lonely, so i decided to ad a walker and his two dogs…they are not dominant at all and dont really change the feel of the painting, but somehow it has given it a little bit of life that was missing before. Kinda wierd to work on a winter painting in July. I did get a start on 2 large rural landscapes today, after I got back from my bike ride this morning. I layed in the darks, then took a break. This afternoon I was able to get the large shapes established on one of them. I wanted to continue and do the same for the second one, but knew I really was too tired to really take charge like I needed to, to get it done to my satisfaction. bummer, i know my own weakness. I knew I shouldn’t have stayed up so late last night!
