she’s a pisces…oh yes she is.

I’ve been working on some portraits again which I love…especially when they are people dear to me. This is my eldest daughter Holly… at least it will be when I finish it. She is living in Australia at the moment. I’m thinking about her the whole time I’m painting it…those ambiguous shadows on the face are HARD to do!!! It’s not finished, but here’s what I completed today.

I appreciate your comments…i will continue to perculate my ideas on what it needs to finish it…it always takes me a long time to recognise what that is specifically, but it usually comes when I’m not concentrating on it too much….so much for finishing a piece when I want to…haha

    Oh mom~!~!!!! This is so gorgeous~! Great job so far, I think it looks just like me. I absoluetly love it~! Jeff is excited to see his too. You are so talented and we are both so excited to see you guys~!Love you~!

Hi Holly, I’m glad you like it so far, hopefully i will be able to bring it to completion…i was getting a little stuck so I posted it to WetCanvas and managed to get a little advice from the pros…especially helpful was comments from Aldo Balding (see my blogroll)as he suggested some ideas that make sense to me. I love his figurative work, and he certainly is a master in portraiture. I will work a little more on Jeff’s and post it when it is presentable. thanks for your comments Hols.

  7. Hi Rachel, I’m glad you approve. I worked on it today some more, and it’s coming along…will definately post it when done. I also worked on my portrait of Jeff too this afternoon, it’s coming along too. Will probably post them both later in the week.
