An artist can get so caught up in all the periphial stuff that goes with art making…you know, mostly things like marketing the work, pleasing clients, finding galleries, joining artist societies etc etc etc…but when I get a chance to enjoy a solid day of painting…now that is when I most know myself and when I recognize that it’s not about the other stuff, …for me it’s about painting.

It’s about THE(?) painting?!
It’s about PAINTING, … stupid. ;-P
Rene, i removed the word ‘the’… you are right that is what i meant to say!
The eyes have it! When a painter can do eyes as well as you can Sally, and have them look natural and not overworked, it is the sign of a master portrait painter! Wonderful, the eyes are full of light and love.
I love this has a great feeling of sunlight.

You’re so right. I spent the whole day Saturday at the computer, taking care of art chores, promising myself that if I got those chores done, I could paint. I never got to paint, but did get the chores done. Today, I paint! I’ll check in and see what you’ve painted, too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
