By the Apple Tree- oil on canvas - 10″ x 8″This is the second plein air painting I did the same day, on May 24. Oh my goodness I just love being out there painting in the spring air with the birds chirping and the insects buzzing…life is grand. The first painting I did got the old’ wipe out back in the studio!…at least I can use the canvas again for another go!

I love the feeling of movement in this piece. Great light and dark contrast and composition (with the tree starting off scene).
